Libra – Tula “balance scale” Rasi

“Front rising, the Balance Scale is rich in vigour during the day, blue, endowed with Rajas, western, moving on land, killing/destroying, a Sudra, medium bodied, two-footed and ruled by Venus.”

Air – Libra seeks to follow a fair and intellectual path. 

Moveable – Libra will prefer the challenge of starting new things rather than perfecting the things they have already started or being flexible enough to do either one.

Male – Libra is a positively charged sign – given to action and external life.

Rajas – Libra is primarily motivated by the possibility of fulfilling a desire.

The Male expression of Venus as a Moveable Air Sign comes to life through the Sign of Libra. The active quality of Venus as the planet of happiness is being learned in through the sign of Libra. The Libran scales vacillate between the desired object and the outlay of energy or time it will take to realize the object. The rajasic, passionate nature of this sign shows a desire filled personality as air is the element of desire and it rules the intellect. But the intellect will not be able to make a proper decision in the new experiences the Libran will gravitate toward. Thus they must learn to trust their gut and make a decision, then live with it. Yet, Venus as the ruling planet will deny any ultimate enjoyment from experiences or sensual objects if all concerned were not honored in the process of its fulfillment. Balancing their own desires with the desires and wishes of those affected by their decisions is the main cycle of action with Libra. This does not always mean the Libran will seek the steady and the stable. In fact many times they will seek the chaotic, in order to balance it later and learn the desired lesson and how to act instinctively. As the Libran learns to value themselves and others equally, a greater respect and value for all is integrated and the active quality of Venus is realized.      

The Libra native experiences confusion around taking positive action as the Moon is Lord of the 10^th house, the “Karma Bhava”, the houses of action. Librans will vacillate mentally trying to feel their way through yet after much struggle will still feel ill equipped to act or wind up doubting their actions later. They will compensate for this behavior by relying too heavily on the opinions of others and the general consensus of their peers, as shown by the Sun as 11^th lord.

Taurus – Vrisha “bull” Rasi

“White, ruled by Venus, long, four-footed, night strong, southerly, village living, a merchant, earthy, Rajas and back rising is the Bull.”

Earth – Taurus seeks to follow a consistent and practical path.

Fixed – Taurus will prefer perfecting the things they have started rather than starting new things or being flexible and open to the many possibilities.  

Female- Taurus is a negatively charged sign – given to reflection and the internal process.

Rajas – Taurus is primarily motivated by the possibility of fulfilling a desire. 

At the evolutionary stage of Taurus the soul learns to slow down and gather, hold and refine, to preserve and beautify, to be comfortable and to enjoy. It is through the fixed quality of Earth and the feminine expression of the Planet Venus that the Taurus native expresses itself. The Bull is a gentle yet strong and persevering creature. He is also a quadruped sign, but unlike Aries he has a slow and plodding nature, not at all reckless or impulsive. Steadiness and patience are found with the Bulls. However this natural steadiness leads to stubbornness. In order to get a Bull to change it’s mind or it’s course you must “lock horns” with them. Once engaged in an activity or a mindset they are usually in it for the long haul as they have a “long” appearance. They are slow in starting and even slower in changing. The Bull “resides in villages,” which shows the social nature of these creatures. Venus makes them sensual in nature and usually very comfortable around people and nurturing with them. They usually like to cook and eat and are very connected to their home environment and to worldly forms and comforts in general. Taurus rules the face, including all of its sense organs, and thus the Taurean must watch the tendency to overindulge in the senses. They can cling to form and situation, exhibiting a unique blend of stubbornness and compromise. Once an idea or situation is embraced as their own, they are slow to change, yet willing and able to endure much emotional hardship in order to maintain stability. This results in frustration and leads them to “seeing red.” They have a temper, being usually slow to anger and to forgive. But their natural peace loving nature gives them strong powers of compromise which can be a barrier to positive change in the un evolved Taurean who is attached more to security than to growth.

The Taurus native will experience vulnerability surrounding the use of a positive self willed nature and a curious, experimental approach, as shown by the Moon ruling the 3^rd house. They will compensate for that by looking to maintain consistency and domestic security as the Sun rules the 4^th house.
