The Moon Rules Cancer,..

Moveable – Cancer will prefer the challenge of starting new things rather than perfecting the things they have already started or being flexible enough to do either one.
Female – Cancer is a negatively charged sign – given to reflection and the internal process.
Sattwa – Cancer is primarily motivated by the possibility of doing something good.
The Moon expresses herself through the sign of Cancer. Just as the Moon is the planet of vulnerability, receptivity, longing, fluctuating and excessive moods, these qualities are expressed through the sign of Cancer. In planet in the sign of Cancer will be conditioned by these attributes, and will depend on the strength of the Moon in order to feel the connection and become so vital to planets in this sign. Archetypically, whichever house the sign of Cancer Falls relative to the Ascendant will refer to the main area of confusion and longing will experience in life. This will be an area where we feel the least equipped to act powerfully (as shown by the Sun) and may feel overtaken by our environment, other influences and impressions, etc. through this area of life. Yet by being receptive to this area of confusion, we're able to take giant steps in letting go of our worldly attachment to action and ideas. (Also shown by the relative house of the sign Leo) Cancer shows the area in life where we have no choice but to nurture and nourish those influences so as to integrate them into our being. Yet the sign of Cancer demands we become vulnerable in order to learn this lesson. Vulnerability is often times associated with fear, as we all have at one time or another experienced difficulty in pain when we've allow ourselves to be receptive and vulnerable. Thus this nature of Cancer, through the fluctuating guidance of the Lord Moon, refers to a very defenseless part of us, that soft and receptive part of our being who, in many ways, has no capacity to defend itself or act in this world and therefore must be utterly vulnerable and is impressionable in order to find peace. Ultimately we only have as much peace of mind as we are able to be vulnerable. The walls of protection that we have erected around our heart to insulate us from our fears are the same structures we must dismantle if we are truly to flow in full harmony with our true nature.
