Current Astro Forecast - 10/17-10/23

Weekly Synopsis:
The upcoming week will see the Moon transiting the first part of the zodiac, crossing is powerful retrograde Mars, which will stir up some active emotions especially Monday and Tuesday. The lunar eclipse on Monday predicts a fortnight of intensity and an active mind. By midweek however the exalted Moon will see the emotions settle in by the end of the week more lighthearted and skillful approach should be present. Of note is the Sun's entrance into Libra, his sign of debility, which could make for a confused sense of direction, purpose and vision for the next 30 days.

Current Astro Sky: Saturn in Cancer, Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Libra, Venus in Scorpio, Ketu in Virgo, Mars in Aries, Rahu in Pisces

Retrograde Mars is getting bigger and bigger! Make sure look up in the sky the next few days and see that full and waning Moon next to retrograde Mars. The big red guy is making himself known everywhere. This is a good time to say the mantra for Mars.

We will have the Lunar eclipse :058 GMT early Monday morning - about 4 PM PDT on Sunday. Here is the chart for Greenwich (Saturn ascendant)

NOtice how the Sun has moved into a sign NOT opposite the the Moon, so this eclipse is a penumbral eclipse, as shown by the image to the right. The next couple days after this eclipse there will be another earthquake possibility. The Moon will approach a very close retrograde Mars, with Sun and Jupiter both opposite and Saturn in the other angle. That's a lot of gravitational force pulling on the Earth.
Earthquake / seismic alert - From 10/17 to 10/20

The Sun is debilitated in Libra. When a planet is debilitated its as if operating with a handicap or other physical challenge. The Sun becomes debilitated in Libra because Libra is a sign off manners, diplomacy, courtesy, things of that nature. And of course those things are fine, yet they're not the things that are the most important to the Sun. Libra is ruled by Venus, these are the things that are the most important to Venus, and Venus is the planet that brings those things into our life. The Sun brings consistency, clarity, purification, illumination, power, truth, intelligence - he is exalted in the sign of Aries - a sign of impulsive action. Libra is not a sign of impulsive action, it is a sign of indecision. As, in order to have manners, courtesy and diplomacy we must reflect upon a situation, and determine what is the best thing for all concerned. The Sun already knows intuitively what the best thing is, in fact he's the part of us that knows where we are heading on a deeper soul level. Even if we are not aware of it ourselves on the conscious level. The Sun is the transpersonal Self, with the capital "S". It is the light in our being which connects all other lights, as the other planets merely reflect the light of the Sun. So mainly the Sun is a planet of inspiration, and when we follow our inspirations, especially when they are aligned with truth, we shine!
In the sign of Libra this inspired nature gets bogged down with indecision. The opposite sign of Aries, where the Sun is exalted is an impulsive sign, where we act first and think later. This is what's best for the Sun. When we act in accordance with the Sun, we are following a truthful vision, we are following the atman, we are following the soul. The other thing that happens when the Sun and Jupiter are in Libra, is they become bogged down in the sensual nature of ruling planet Venus. The planets of Venus, Mercury and Saturn are very worldly planets. Venus and Mercury are rajasic in nature (primarily motivated by worldly desire, stimulation). The Sun and Jupiter are Sattwic planets planets that are primarily motivated by uplifting the soul out of materiality and form. Jupiter and the Sun are both in Libra for the next month, sort deeper spiritual inspirations, and our capacity to rise above sensual pleasures, excessive sociability, seeking approval of others, etc. may interfere with our truthful universal vision for the next month or so.
However there is still the opportunity to make gains in these areas if we are attentive. Especially around the end of the month when Venus enters Sagittarius and exchanges energy with Jupiter. These exchanges of energy are very powerful in helping us to overcome obstacles. However until the end of October we may face a realty challenges in this way ( trying too hard to please others, not feeling confident in our own independent vision)
