Astrology is the sacred Science of seeing how our live will unfold through time. Here is an excerpt from an article i wrote on the subject.

In the Vedic Sciences we are all spiritual creatures having a human experience, not the other way around. In the Vedic Sciences this deeper self is called The "Kala Purusha" Kala means "time" and purusha means "essence." These are general interpretations. Each of us exists not only as a mental / physical entity composed of matter and energy, called "Prakriti," but also as a spiritual transcendant entity with an essential cosmic nature, called "Purusha." Some translate the Kala purusha to mean the "Cosmic Man" or "Cosmic Being." This is also accurate. 

For lack of a better way to say it, The Kala Purusha is our higher Self, our Soul. And, it is this Kala Purusha who is really running the show. The Rishis (sages) who gave us the Vedic Sciences were not just mystics they were Scientists and the Vedic Sciences are incredibly ordered in their ability to explain our embodoied creaturely existence. It is the grosser energies of the mind and the the body which are oriented from this deeper Soul nature as a Kala Purusha, an "Essence in Time." These orienting factors are based on our Karma as it is the Kala Purusha which shadows us from lifetime to lifetime. It was the Purusha which imprinted our Chakras at the end of our last life with the appropriate lessons that we must learn in this one, as we evolve toweard perfection. The PLanets in our birth chart show the energies and lessons of our Kala Purusha. Planetary movements show which karmas will unfold at which time, they show the Purusha connecting to it's environment through time. Again the Essence in Time. 

It is important to understand what it meant by "Time." As a cosmic principle, time is the great master of he universe. Time is not merely the linear measurement which allows our brains to organize data around daily coordinates with gross measuring devices like clocks and calendars. Time is the patient progression of one moment after the next, which leads to one day, one year, a lifetime, a generation, and ultimately the passing of Aeons. How a person perceives their place in time shows alot about how they perceive the universe and God and the deeper mysteries of life.
